Pastor Ken Returns

Pastor Ken left yesterday for the States after spending a week with us. I’m sure he’ll be speaking about his experience this Sunday. If you can’t attend, I believe his sermons are available on-line at the Calvary Chapel Syracuse website. Perhaps you’ll want to arrange a time to meet with him as a group to hear his stories.

From our perspective we were very blessed to have him visit. Our respect and love for him were strengthened considerably. His knowledge of the Scriptures and myriad subjects related to our faith is profound. Because he carries himself with such humility, that knowledge is only expressed in the most gracious manner. He has a wonderful sense of humor that puts people right at ease. Karen and the girls laughed all the time. He and I were able to talk at length about a wide variety of subjects. He is a godly man, full of wisdom and the Holy Spirit. He left saying that he hopes to return next month with his youngest daughter. I take it from that that he enjoyed it here.

I have just finished listening to two sermons by Jon Courson on the subject of knowing God’s will for our lives. Since this is something all of us grapple with at some point in our lives, I would strongly encourage you to study these two tapes. They’re available for free on-line at www.joncourson.com. They’re based on Acts 15 and 16. The specific tapes are W592 and W593.

“In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thess. 5:18

Peace,
